I am really struggling to get ROS + Open-AI gym + gazebo running in my local environment in the same way that it works in the "OpenAI Gym for Robotics 101" course. I have worked through the installation on the erlerobotics github site to no avail (all three of the options: ubuntu 14, ubuntu 16 and docker container build). Do you at The Construct have any information, or a working Dockerfile, or something similar that could help me set up my environment to be able to work through that same course, but one my local machine?

Unfortunately we can not provide support for local installations.

You can push your work with Open AI gym using ROSDS (http://www.theconstructsim.com/rds-ros-development-studio/), where we provide the same environment of the Robot Ignite Academy.
