I have done a course in the past and I want to review it by doing it from the scratch, is there a way I can just reset the workspace?

Ok, in case you have removed everything inside catkin_ws, you have to create it as a catkin workspace again. These are the steps (took from here and adapted to RobotIgniteAcademy):

  • source /home/simulations/public_sim_ws/devel/setup.bash
  • mkdir -p ~/catkin_ws/src
  • cd ~/catkin_ws
  • catkin_make

And you are ready to go

Please let me know if it worked.

Cheers

Hello @youssef,

You can remove your files from catkin_ws and recompile it. For example:

cd ~/catkin_ws; rm -rf src/*; rm -rf devel/ build/; catkin_make;

Any help you may need with this, please let us know through this forum, or e-mail or the live chat.

Cheers

I thought that complete environment is "sandbox" that can easyly be reset/reinitialized so I deleted all files and folders inside catkin_ws. Now I get this:

user:~/catkin_ws$ catkin_make;

Base path: /home/user/catkin_ws

The specified source space "/home/user/catkin_ws/src" does not exist

without sudo privileges catkin cant be reinstalled. Is there a way to reset complete environment?
