Hi,

I am trying to do Exercise 2.5 of the navigation tutorial where it asks to write a launch file that launches the map_server node. Below is what my launch file looks like: <launch> <node pkg="map_server" type="provide_map" name="map_server" output="screen"/> </launch>

This is what I type in the terminal to run the launch file (Note: I am in my "user/catkin_ws/src" directory): roslaunch my_map.yaml provide_map.launch

However this is what the terminal returns: ... logging to /home/user/.ros/log/bee23d3c-ec09-11e8-959b-0a83033da386/roslaunch-ip-172-31-34-37-7810.log Checking log directory for disk usage. This may take awhile. Press Ctrl-C to interrupt Done checking log file disk usage. Usage is <1GB.

Invalid roslaunch XML syntax: syntax error: line 1, column 0 The traceback for the exception was written to the log file

Can anybody help me out with the error here? Thanks

Hello @michaelliu22,

About your launch file, are you breaking the line between the tags?

Could you post it formatted or a print screen, at least?
